Get in touch to find out how our data protection training and consultancy can help you.

The most important asset of most businesses is information. Personal data includes client details, client lists, contact lists, employee details and supplier details. This needs to be handled correctly, in accordance with the Data Protection Act (DPA) and related legislation. Other important information includes accounting records, diaries, procedures for carrying out specialist tasks, templates and business plans. This information needs to be kept secret from competitors and loss of it would seriously damage day-to-day activities.

Do you know what data protection law requires?

Data protection compliance is about treating people’s personal data correctly. This avoids problems with the regulator and possibly the courts as well as building client trust and confidence. Failure to be compliant with the appropriate legislation may lead to your company being challenged in court.  Data protection training for all staff is an essential component of compliance strategy.  In addition to face to face training we also offer live online data protection training.

At the moment the most significant law relating to personal data is the DPA.  The European Parliament has very recently approved the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).  This will be enforced in 2018.  It will require major changes to the way you work and will introduce massive penalties.

As well as worrying about Data Protection compliance it is essential to keep data secure in order to avoid a range of problems.
